I’ve no reason to witch-hunt you – Akpabio replies Sen Abbo

Godswill Akpabio, Senate President, has distanced himself from the Court of Appeal’s dismissal of Adamawa North Senator Elisha Abbo.

Contrary to Abbo’s claim, Akpabio stated that he has no cause to witch-hunt the fired lawmaker.

Following his dismissal by the Appeal Court, Abbo accused Akpabio of being to blame for his dismissal.

Abbo stated that four additional senators who opposed Akpabio’s election as Senate President had been targeted for dismissal.

He claimed that Akpabio’s next target was Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

In response, Akpabio accused Abbo of seeking a scapegoat.

He made the announcement through his Media Aide, Eseme Eyiboh.

Addressing newsmen, Eyiboh said,

“It is unfortunate if he actually said that Akpabio was responsible for his removal. That’s the swan song of a man looking for scapegoats.

“The Court of Appeal across the country decides cases based on the provisions of the Electoral Act and evidence advanced by petitioners. The Senate President has no reason to witch-hunt any of his colleagues.”

Abbo was among the Senators that campaigned for Senator Yari during the struggle to elect Senate President.
