Judge who gave ruling against Sanusi’s reinstatement is in US – Gov Yusuf, vows to report him
Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State says the judge who ruled to stop the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II as the Emir of Kano is in the US.
Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf claims the judge who ruled against Muhammadu Sanusi II’s reinstatement as Kano’s Emir is in the United States.
Sanusi was reinstalled on Thursday, four years after his dethronement.
The reinstallation came after Governor Yusuf signed the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Bill 2024 into law.
In the wake of the development, a Federal High Court in Kano issued an ex-parte order preventing the governor from reinstating Sanusi II.
But during the presentation of the appointment letter to Sanusi on Friday, the Kano State governor spoke in Hausa about the court order stopping him from dissolving the Kano Emirates created by the previous administration.
According to him, the judge who was out of the country had no right to stop what the state assembly had done using due process.
