Just In: Again, Gov Abba Yusuf appoints 116 aides

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed 116 new aides to serve as Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), Special Assistants (SAs), and Personal Assistants (PAs) in various government departments.

Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, announced the new appointments in a statement on Friday.

On Tuesday, the governor appointed 94 aides, stating that they will report on operations from the various MDAs around the state.

According to Platinum Times, with these additional hires, the governor now has 406 aides.

In defending his actions, the governor stated that the selections were in keeping with his intentions to involve youngsters in administration and include more hands in the process of carrying out obligations.

“There are 63 Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), 41 Special Assistants (SAs), and 12 Personal Assistants (PAs) among those appointed.” This is part of his efforts to include more capable hands in providing excellent governance, according to the statement.

The development comes at a time when the government has asked the people to make some sacrifices as a result of the elimination of subsidies.

President Bola Tinubu has the largest cabinet in Nigerian history, with nearly 50 ministers.

Nigerians have been arguing for a reduction in the expense of governance.
