JUST IN: Dethroned Emir Aminu Bayero relocates to Nasarawa palace amidst tension in Kano
The dethroned Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, has moved to the Nasarawa palace within the Emirate in the historic town.
This relocation follows the directive from Governor Abba Yusuf, who ordered Bayero and other ousted Emirs to vacate their palaces within 48 hours.
Bayero’s return to Kano was met with immediate action from the governor. The governor had previously instructed the Commissioner of Police to arrest Bayero for disturbing public peace.
In the midst of these developments, Muhammadu Sanusi, who has been reinstated as Emir, has taken up residence at the Gidan Rumfa palace. Both the Nasarawa and Gidan Rumfa palaces are now heavily guarded, reflecting the heightened tension in the region.
The situation remains delicate as the state navigates through this period of political and social unrest.
