Just In: KEDC fires 39 employees

39 workers have been sacked by Kaduna Electric management as a result of different infractions against the company’s workers policy.

The company’s Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, released a statement in which he listed the infractions as embezzlement, fraud, unlawful access, and absconding.

“These offenses were in violation of the recently endorsed revised employee conditions of service, which was supported by the management led by the Managing Director/CEO, Yusuf Usman Yahaya, and the national leadership of the two in-house labor unions,” the statement reads.

The statement went on to say that the company’s financial health was negatively impacted by the acts of the fired employees and that this needed to be rectified.

Customers were also cautioned in the statement not to do business with dishonest people who want to underpay the company since doing so could make it more difficult for it to fulfill its responsibilities to the electrical market.
