JUST IN: S’Court reserves Judgement in Ebonyi guber election appeal
The Supreme Court has reserved it’s judgment in the Ebonyi State governorship election appeal until a date that will be disclosed to the parties.
Justice John Okoro reserved the judgment after the parties submitted their briefs of argument on Monday.
The Court of Appeal in Lagos previously validated Francis Nwifuru’s election as Ebonyi State’s legitimately elected governor.
Chukwuma Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party appealed, but the three-member panel led by Justice Jummai Sankey dismissed it unanimously.
The panel also addressed all five issues brought against the appellant and dismissed the appeal for lack of merit.
Justice Sankey ruled that the PDP and its candidate lacked the legal authority to engage in the internal affairs of the All Progressives Congress, specifically the nomination of candidates.
