Kaduna Tribunal: Uba Sani to open defense against PDP August 5
In response to a petition challenging the outcome of the governor’s election, the Kaduna State Governorship Election Tribunal has set Saturday, August 5, for Gov. Uba Sani, INEC, and the APC to present their case.
Sani’s victory is being contested and called into question by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr. Muhammad Isah-Ashiru, the PDP’s candidate in the state’s governorship election on March 18.
The defense was given until Saturday to begin its case and conclude it within the allotted 10 days by the tribunal, which was presided over by Justice Victor Oviawe, after the petitioners’ case was concluded on Thursday.
Isah-Ashiru’s lead attorney, Mr. Oluwole Iyamu, SAN, had earlier excused his final witness, an INEC officer.
He informed the tribunal that the witness lacked the necessary qualifications to represent INEC in cases like the court petition.
