Kano anti-graft agency lacks power to investigate Ganduje – Court rules on Dollar bribery video
The Federal High Court in Kano ruled on Tuesday that the Kano anti-graft body, the Kano Public Compliant and Anti-Corruption Commission.
(PCACC), lacks the authority to probe former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over the $1 bribery video.
While delivering his judgment, the presiding judge, Justice Abdullahi Liman, stated that the offence is a federal offence that can be prosecuted by the Attorney General of the Federation and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
However, Justice Liman stated that the Kano anti-graft agency has a limited ability to probe the former governor.
Meanwhile, speaking with reporters shortly after the judgment, anti-graft agency counsel Usman Umar Fari stated that they will appeal the decision to the Court of Appeal.
Details will be provided later.
