Kano Appeal Court verdict: We will still defeat you at Supreme Court – Ganduje knocks Abba Yusuf

Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, believes Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, who was stacked by the Appeal Court on Friday, will still face defeat in the Supreme Court.
The former Kano State governor made the comment while speaking to reporters at his Asokoro residence in Abuja.
The Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal earlier annulled the election of Governor Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, according to the Appeal Court hearing in Abuja on Friday.
The court ruled that the APC candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, was the legitimate winner of Kano’s governorship election on March 18.
The three-person panel chaired by Justice M.A Adumeh delivered judgment on Governor Yusuf’s appeal, declaring that the NNPP candidate was not qualified to fight the election since he was not a registered member of the party at the time the election was place.
In response to the Appeal Court decision, the governor expressed confidence that he would retrieve his triumph before the Supreme Court.
However, Ganduje, who was overjoyed with the Appeal Court decision, insisted that the APC candidate will still win in the Supreme Court.
He said,
“I thank Allah for this important judgment. We have to thank the judiciary for providing a good administration of justice despite all the distractions that have taken place since the beginning of the case.
“There is no doubt this is a victory for democracy. It is a victory for APC and a victory for Kano State.
“This is an indication that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria.
“But in all, probably they will go to the Supreme Court which is part of democracy. There is nothing wrong for them to go to the Supreme Court. We, too, are ready to meet them in the Supreme Court. And Inshallah, we will win in the Supreme Court as well.”
