Kano: Court freezes 24 govt bank accounts over demolition
The Kano State Government’s accounts have been freezed by a Federal High Court for failing to comply with a court order to pay N30 billion in compensation to victims of the Filling Idi Demolition exercise.
The freezing order affects 24 Kano State bank accounts, including the state’s Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) account.
The sitting judge, Justice E.A Ekwo, has also ordered the Kano State Government to appear in court on January 18 to explain why N30 billion was frozen in the concerned bank accounts.
The money are meant to be distributed to the Masallacin Eid Shop Owners Incorporated Trustees.
