Kenya Airways resumes daily flight to Nigeria
The acting Kenya High Commissioner to Nigeria, Samuel Mogere, said that Kenya Airways will begin daily flights to Nigeria as part of a drive to connect Kenya to the rest of the globe.
This was revealed by the high commissioner in Abuja on Wednesday during the Magical Kenya road show.
He stated that Kenya’s current government is committed to uniting Africa, and that one part of that effort is ensuring that Nigerians may go to Kenya quickly and without stress on a regular basis.
He also stated that the Kenyan government has implemented an online e-visa process in which one may apply for and receive approval for a visa to travel to Kenya without having to go through the onerous visa processing process that existed previously.
Alex Tunoi, marketing manager of the Kenya Tourism Board, also spoke at the event, stating that the roadshow was part of the tourism board’s diversification strategy to enhance arrivals from Africa, which is Kenya’s primary tourism market.
Steve Biko, Sarova Hotels and Resorts’ regional sales manager in Kenya, stated that they are in Nigeria because it is an important market for Kenya due to its huge population and frequent travel.
Kenya Airways previously announced that direct flights between Nairobi and Abuja would begin on June 6, 2014.
The airline now operates four flights per week between its hub at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi and Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja.
Direct flights to Abuja were normally scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
