Kogi APC primaries: Supreme Court fines Smart Adeyemi N2m, nullifies his appeal

Sen. Smart Adeyemi’s petition against the All Progressives Congress, APC’s selection of Usman Ahmed Ododo as its candidate for governor in the Kogi State election on November 11 has been nullified by the Supreme Court on Monday.

Adeyemi was fined N2 million by the supreme court in a decision written by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim for submitting what it deemed to be a frivolous and pointless lawsuit.

According to Justice Agim, the appellant’s case had no merit whatsoever.

The court maintained the judgments of the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal, both in Abuja, that Ododo had won a legitimate primary election.
