Kwankwaso remains our National Leader – NNPP faction
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) National Working Committee (NWC) has denied that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has been suspended.
Ladipo Johnson, the party’s national auditor, said this during a news conference on Wednesday at the NNPP national office in Abuja.
The suspension was ruled to be invalid by Johnson, a former spokeswoman for the Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign Council.
Following a concurrent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Lagos, a group of the party led by its former Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, Boniface Aniebonan, on Tuesday suspended Kwankwaso for six months due to suspected anti-party activities.
Major Agbo, the party’s previous national publicity secretary, was also named acting national chairman.
Johnson, meanwhile, claimed that Aniebonam and Agbo were ejected from the party after being suspended for three months on August 24 for indulging in improper behavior.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was present for the party’s NEC meeting on Tuesday in Abuja, where decisions were made about the election of new national officials, the alteration of the party’s logo, and the expulsion of Aniebonam and Agbo.
“Is it not funny that all those people either suspended or expelled would gather somewhere and claim to have suspended Kwankwaso and also dissolve the NWC?
“The jokers also appointed a CTC made up of those people who have ceased to be members of the party by virtue of our constitution,” he added
