Kwara: CDHR condemns killing of female Offa Poly student

The assassination of Toyin Bamidele, a Higher National Diploma student at the Department of Food Technology, Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, has been strongly condemned by the Committee for Defence of Human Rights (CDHR).
According to Platinum Times, Toyin was recently hacked to death at her apartment in Offa.
Police have apprehended a suspect in connection with the incident.
On Wednesday, CDHR spokesman Akintunde Diya in Ilorin described the conduct as “devilish, barbaric, dastardly, and gruesome.”
According to the statement:
“Taking the life of a person is uncalled for and unacceptable; hence, the Committee of Defence for Human Rights, Kwara State, is calling for an immediate investigation to unravel the circumstance and fish out the culprits.
“We, therefore, call on the Commissioner of Police Victor Olaiya and other support security agencies to urgently swing into action and bring out the perpetrators of this evil act from their hideout.
“We strongly appeal to students of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, to be calm and remain resolute to learning and good character.”
The body urged the institution’s management to be more proactive and urgently x-ray the remote causes and nip in the bud attitudes and character among students that could lead to inhuman acts and breakdown of law and order in the school and community.
