Labour Party leader beheaded by gunmen in Abia

Mr Maduka Zachary, a Labour Party chieftain in Abia State, has been beheaded by unidentified assailants.
The martyred party chieftain, who served as the LP’s Campaign Director General in the Isuikwuato Umunneochi Federal Constituency during the last election, was assassinated at his home in Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of the State.
According to reports, the gunmen stormed the deceased’s home on Wednesday, killing him and chopping off his head.
Platinum Times‘s attempts to acquire a response from the Abia State Police Command were futile because the Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, did not respond to her calls.
However, Goodluck Ibem, the President General of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, acknowledged the tragic news.
When Platinum Times approached Ibem, who was unable to provide information about the incident, he just stated, “the report is true.”
