Lagos govt pulls down illegal structures at Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway

On the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway, workers from the Monitoring, Enforcement and Compliance Department of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources started demolishing unlawful constructions on Sunday.
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, has ordered the destruction.
This was confirmed in a statement released on Sunday by the ministry’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Adekunle Adeshina.
He claimed that the unlawful buildings had been transformed into residences and storage facilities for street vendors.
Adeshina continued, “The Transmission Company of Nigeria placed the structures on the highway setback along the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway.”
