Man in Police custody for raping his six-year-old daughter in Akwa Ibom
According to the police in Akwa Ibom State, a father who allegedly raped his six-year-old daughter have been arrested.
Sunday Ben, the suspect, resides in Aka Itiam Etoi, a local government area in Akwa Ibom State.
According to Olatoye Durosinmi, the Akwa Ibom Commissioner of Police, who spoke to media on Wednesday at the police headquarters in Uyo, he was apprehended on July 31 after the event was reported to the police.
The suspect had previously gone to pick up the victim from the mother and bring him to his place. Unfortunately, she had blood stains and injuries on her private area when he found her the following day. After being taken for a medical exam, the apparent was confirmed, according to Mr. Durosinmi.

The police commissioner claimed that on July 1, the police detained Bright Nwoke, a 29-year-old resident of the state’s Eket Local Government Area, on suspicion of raping a 10-year-old girl. The commissioner claimed that the suspect had admitted to the crime.
According to the police chief, the suspect admitted to sending the victim’s younger brother to the store to get a recharge card before grabbing the victim and dragging her into a room while covering her mouth with his palm to stop her from yelling for help.
According to Mr. Durosinmi, who spoke to media, Peace Paul, a suspected child trafficker from the state’s Obot Akara Local Government Area, was detained by police on August 9 for the alleged kidnapping of two children in May who were five and three years old.
According to the police chief, she sold the two kids to Mary Eunice in Aba, Abia State, who then sold them to Bella Uko in Asaba, Delta State.
Similarly, one Emmanuel Macauley Daniel’m’ of Ikot Ikot Village in Obot Akara LGA had his 11-year-old daughter stolen by one Alayodi Paul Onyekwere ‘f’ of Abroma, Rivers State.
The suspect is said to have been sent by her grandmother to kidnap the infant, which she then instructed agents to find in Rivers State. The youngsters are present today and will meet up with their family, he continued.
Between July and August in the state, suspected oil thieves and kidnappers were also detained, according to the police.
“The suspects will have their days in court,” Mr. Durosinmi said.
