Man lands in Police net for defiling 11-yr-old girl inside rest room in Ogun

An 11-year-old girl is said to have been defiled by a 20-year-old man named Hammed Lawal in a public restroom in Aiyepe Ijebu, Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to Platinum Times Nigeria, the suspect is currently being sought by authorities at the Odogbolu police station.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the police in Ogun State confirmed the occurrence.
The victim’s father reportedly complained to Odogbolu division that Lawal, a resident of the 5 Aba quarters, “unlawfully had carnal knowledge of his daughter inside his bathroom.”
He had been “harassing his daughter sexually for a long time,” the parent informed the police, “but he did not mention what steps he took to scare the suspect off his daughter.”
According to Odutola, the defiled girl was transferred to Odogbolu General Hospital for a physical assessment, counseling, and emotional therapy.
Odutola expressed worry that in the previous week, “not less than four defilement cases were reported,” despite the fact that Section 218 of the Criminal Code Act specifies life imprisonment for anyone who has illicit carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 13 years.
She claimed that as a result, Police Commissioner Abiodun Alamutu urged parents to adopt a firm but encouraging parenting approach that would eventually instill in their kids a sense of obedience, discipline, and self-assurance.
