Man shot dead while testing bulletproof charm in Bauchi

In Bauchi State, a native doctor and three other people were testing a charm against a gun on a 43-year-old man named Muhammadu Ali when he was shot and murdered.

It was said that the deceased, a resident of Zaki Local Government Area’s Damaiwa village via Bursali ward, went to the Damaiwa jungle with the four others to see if a charm would shield him from gunfire.

Sadly, the charm didn’t work and he was killed when a locally manufactured gun was fired at him to test its effectiveness.

These were said in a statement released to media on Tuesday by Ahmed Wakil, the public relations officer for the Bauchi State Police Command.

He claimed that once the victim was taken to the hospital by emergency personnel after the police learned of the occurrence, the victim’s status was declared dead by an attending physician.

He said that while some of the perpetrators were apprehended right away, the authorities are currently pursuing the others who managed to get away.

A native doctor named Danladi Ya’u, age 28, of Damaiwa village via Bursali ward Zaki LGA, Bauchi State, along with three other accomplices who are currently at large, went to the Damaiwa bush with the specific intent of testing a gun medicine on a man named Muhammadu Ali, age 43, who lived at the same address, according to Wakil, a superintendent of police.

According to him, there is an ongoing investigation into the incident with the goal of apprehending their collaborators and filing charges against them in court.
