Mohbad: Police frees Naira Marley, Sam Larry

The Lagos State Police Command has released popular Nigerian musician Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, and concert promoter Sam Larry from custody.

After completing their bail conditions, Naira Marley and Sam Larry were released.

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, verified their release.

On November 6, a Magistrate’s Court in Yaba, Lagos State, granted Naira Marley and Sam Larry N20 million bail with three sureties.

On October 6, the couple was arraigned and remanded in custody for their suspected role in the killing of a popular singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

The magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, ordered the defendants to relinquish their passports and to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, on a weekly basis.

However, Hundeyin confirmed their release, saying, “Naira Marley and Sammy Larry, having met their bail conditions, have been released.”
