N720 per litre: NNPCL refutes claims of planned pump price hike

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited has refuted rumors that fuel prices have increased across the country at the pump.
This was said in a statement released by NNPC Limited on Monday.
The Company’s response comes amid rumors that fuel pump costs may be increased.
If the price of fuel increases, Nigeria Labour Congress President Joe Ajaero has threatened to go on strike without giving prior warning.
“Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage and do not intend to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated. Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide”, the Company wrote.
Recall that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria said that as long as Dollar continues to rise in the foreign exchange market, an upward increment of fuel price would be imminent.
Last month, fuel marketers hiked fuel pump prices to over N600/per litre.
