NAF strikes raids, kill wanted Boko Haram terriorist, others in Borno

In air attacks on their stronghold in Tagoshe in the Mandara Mountains in Borno, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai killed a top Boko Haram terrorist leader, Abu Asad, and countless others.

This was stated by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, Director, Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja.

According to Gabkwet, the air strikes carried out on Friday were one of the most successful in recent memory by the air component of Operation Hadin Kai.

He claimed that the NAF discovered a group of terrorists in a distant location consisting of three zinc-walled houses surrounded by forests.

He went on to say that the video showed terrorists congregating at the location for either a well-planned meeting or a big attack on troops.

According to him, around 100 heavily armed terrorists were seen throwing insults and walking erratically around the structures, which also held four army carriers.

“The aftermath of the air strike revealed that two out of the three structures, as well as the entire troop carriers, were destroyed.

“There are also indications that Abu Asad, a key figure in the Ali Ngulde group under Boko Haram, as well as other terrorists like Ibrahim Nakeeb, Mujaheed Dimtu, Mustafa Munzir, and several fighters were among the several terrorists eliminated in the air strike,” he said.
