Nigerians mourn Ondo gov, Rotimi Akeredolu

Users of the social media apps X and Facebook have conveyed their grief, well wishes, and lessons learned following the death of Rotimi Akeredolu, the late Governor of Ondo State.
According to accounts, the governor died on Wednesday.
A state leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress said plans were being finalized to swear in his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
However, as of the time of reporting this article, the state administration had yet to comment on the situation.
Akeredolu, 67, was claimed to have cancer and had traveled to Germany for treatment.
On December 13, 2023, Platinum Times announced that Akeredolu was returning to Germany for additional treatment.
In a statement, Olatunde said Akeredolu would send a letter to the state House of Assembly transferring power to Aiyedatiwa.
