Nigerians that died while watching Super Eagles vs South African match (full list)
Over four Nigerians have reportedly slumped and died while watching the Super Eagles against Bafana Bafana of South Africa yesterday.
This has caused panic across Nigeria as football fans mourns the departed.
While a Nigerian support reportedly died inside the stadium, other fans died while watching from their home.

Chief Osondu Nwoye
Nigerian Businessman, Chief Osondu Nwoye passed on while watching Nigeria and South Africa’s game.
He was the CEO of Groupe Auto Promotion. He collapsed after a goal was cancelled.
Osondu’s death was disclosed in a Facebook post uploaded by a user, Chukwudi Iwuchukw, who said that the businessman from Anambra State, in Nigeria’s southeast, collapsed inside the stadium after the Super Eagles’ second goal was cancelled by referees.
But all efforts to rescue him were proved abortive and later pronounced dead by the hospital.
Alhaji Ayuba Abdullahi
Nigerian University Staff, Alhaji Ayuba Abdullahi also passed on while watching the game. He was the Deputy Bursar of KWASU.
According to reports,
“The Deputy Bursar watched the Nigeria/South Africa match from the beginning till the end of the extra time, till it was time for a penalty kick.
“He complained that he was feeling dizzy, so he said he needed to go back home and rest not knowing that his BP had gone up.
Dr. Cairo Ojougboh
Former Nigerian Lawmaker, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh also passed on while watching the AFCON game.
According Platinum Times report, the outspoken politician and All Progressives Congress (APC) leader died on Wednesday night while watching the AFCON 2023 semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa.
Corps member, Samuel
Nigerian graduate and Corps member, Samuel also passed on while watching the game.
According to Platinum Times Nigeria report, the corps member, Samuel from Kaduna State, allegedly died moments before the final kick that clinched Nigeria’s victory in the tournament.
A witness described the situation in a social media post.
