NLC: Sowere reacts to arrest of Ajaero, urges workers to shut down Nigeria

Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate for 2023, has charged that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma is trying to kill Joe Ajaero, the National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

NLC should close Nigeria until Uzodinma is gone from office, Sowore pleaded with them.

Remember how some miscreants had ruined the NLC demonstration in the capital city of Imo State, Owerri?

The NLC president was in Owerri to organize Imo workers for a massive protest rally in the state over claims that the state government was violating and abusing workers’ rights and privileges.

Men from the Nigeria Police Force had to carry Ajaero away due to the violence that broke out during the gathering.

The police immediately denied that they had arrested Ajaero, citing the NLC president’s attack as the reason for their detention in the face of criticism from certain Nigerians.

Reacting, Sowore posted on X:

“This barbarism is unacceptable, @HopeUzodinma sent thugs to assault and possibly assassinate @NLCHeadquarters President Joe Ajaero.

“The @NLCHeadquarters ought to shut down the country until the Imo State Governor and his thugs are removed from office. #RevolutionNow.”
