NPower: Edu assumes office as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, reveals plans

The Nigerian Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has a new Boss in Dr. Betta Edu.
At the ministry main office in Abuja, she assumed her new position on Monday.
Her arrival gives hope to Nigeria’s 136 million underprivileged citizens.
This information is from a formal statement that Rhoda Iliya, the Ministry’s deputy director of information, has signed.
Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is the new name that Dr. Edu has officially given the ministry after it was formerly known as the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
The goal of this reform is to improve the happiness and sense of support among Nigerians. Dr. Edu has pledged that they will make a significant effort to address the nation’s poverty issue during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s first term.
President Tinubu genuinely cares about eradicating poverty and providing hope for Nigerians, according to Dr. Edu.
She believes that President Tinubu finds it unacceptable that there are 136 million poor people in Nigeria out of a total population of over 200 million.
Dr. Edu wants to concentrate on assisting and inspiring people who are suffering the most.
She also wants to be open and transparent about the initiatives and intentions of the ministry.
She assured the staff of the ministry that she works well as a team, listens attentively, and is receptive to input from all parties.
She pleaded for everyone’s help in achieving President Tinubu’s objective of removing 136 million people from poverty.
The goal of Dr. Edu is to elevate the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to the top tier of Nigerian ministries.
Dr. Edu’s appointment coincides with the ministry’s fourth anniversary, which was acknowledged by Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, the Permanent Secretary who handed over the position to her.
He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing a capable woman to head the ministry.
He promised Dr. Edu that the administration and personnel of the ministry would support her fully in completing her goal.
