The Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, says the fire that broke out on Sunday at its Sokoto Network center has been put out.
This was revealed in a statement issued by NTA on Sunday night on its official X Twitter.
The fire was extinguished by the combined efforts of workers and firefighters, according to NTA.
The announcement comes just hours after the television network disclosed that a fire had destroyed parts of its operating structure at the Sokoto Network Centre.
According to the report, the fire could have been caused by high electricity voltage.
Meanwhile, according to the statement, the fire had no effect on the station’s studio, equipment, or other important operational areas.
“The fire that gutted parts of the operational building of NTA Sokoto network centre has been put out by the combined efforts of staff and intervention of firefighters.
“The inferno, which lasted for more than three hours, is now under control and has not affected the studio, equipment and other sensitive operational areas.
“Engineers suspect the fire may have been caused by high electricity voltage.
“The OB Van, equipment and office furniture have also been saved from the inferno,” it said.
