Sam Amadi, a public affairs analyst, criticized and called awful the way the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s (PEPT) ruling was presented.
Amadi expressed displeasure that the public still does not have access to a copy of the judgment.
Following the ruling issued by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) on Wednesday in Abuja, he made his comments.
According to Platinum Times, the five-person panel dismissed the petitions submitted by Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in their ruling.
Amadi, who is also the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, believes that the court decision should have instead been delivered in its final, amended version.
Amadi said in a post on his social media account on Friday that although the court has rendered its decision, it may still take days to type it before making a copy public. He expressed concern that the final copy might be significantly different.
He wrote,
“Justice delivery in Nigeria is horrible. PEPT judgement should’ve been delivered in corrected and final form. Minutes after delivery you will find it uploaded on website and authenticated.
“Now you wait for days to type it. Final copy may be vastly different. No quality control.”
