Plateau Massacre: Peter Obi visits victims, donates N10m

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, paid a visit to internally displaced people in Bokkos and Barkin-ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State on Saturday, where bandits attacked on Christmas Eve.
Obi, together with state party officials, pledged 5 million naira to each local government area in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi where displaced people are currently seeking refuge.
He voiced his dismay and denounced the attacks that resulted in the loss of life and property, emphasizing that the government must live up to its responsibilities of protecting lives and property.
Obi voiced concern over the number of Nigerians seeking protection as displaced persons in their country, describing the situation as intolerable and urging the government to solve it.
On Christmas Eve, gunmen assaulted over 15 settlements in the state’s Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas, killing over 190 people.
On Sunday night, the attackers set fire to several residences. The gun-wielding, bloodthirsty men also took farm products and destroyed property while slaughtering the inhabitants. There has been no claim of responsibility for the horrific attack.
