Police Academy Wudil announces obituary of Cadet

Sulaiman Jika, a cadet at the Nigeria Police Academy, POLAC, in Wudil, Kano, has passed away.

Jika, a dedicated cadet from the Department of Computer Science and a native of Adamawa State, passed away due to “a brief and unexpected illness,” according to the academy.

In a statement released on Sunday, ASP Hussain Suleman, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Academy, confirmed the news.

He claimed that on August 29, 2023, the deceased went to the Academy Clinic for treatment of a condition.

He claimed that after a thorough course of treatment and the cadet’s progressive recovery, he was certified healthy and dismissed by the attending physician the next day and given the assignment to return for checkups at regular intervals, which he followed.

“However, fate took an unforeseen turn. On 2nd September 2023, he was once again admitted to the clinic for further examination and care following a complaint of restlessness,” ASP Hussain Suleiman said.

He added:

“Though his vitals were normal upon examination and all necessary medical steps were taken, we regrettably report his untimely passing.”

The statement quotes the Commandant of the Police Academy, AIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar, as extending his deepest condolences to the grieving family, friends and loved ones of Cadet Sulaiman Jika.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this period of profound sorrow. May God Almighty grant them the strength and resilience to bear this heavy loss,” the commandant said.
