Police arraigns man for allegedly stabbing another with scissors

On Monday, police charged a 23-year-old man, Abdul Samad, with stabbing another man with a pair of scissors on his waist.

The defendant, a trader from Ogba, faced charges of creating a breach of peace and assault.

The prosecution, Insp. Innocent Odugbo, told the court that the offenses occurred on January 9, 2024, in the Sakamori area of Ogba, Lagos.

Odugbo stated that a battle broke out between the complainant, Mr Samsudeen Jolaosho, and the defendant over money.

The prosecutor claimed that the defendant stabbed the complainant with a scissor in his waist, resulting in significant bleeding.

He stated that onlookers transported the complainant to the hospital.

According to the prosecution, the offenses violate Sections 168 and 173 of Lagos State’s Criminal Law, 2015.

However, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty to the allegations.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. O. Popoola, granted the defendant N100,000 bail with two sureties in the same amount.
Popoola postponed the matter until March 20 for mention.
