Popular Adamawa journalist Villian Murray reportedly dead
Villian Murray, a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa State chapter, has reportedly passed away.
Following a brief illness, Murray, an active member of the union, particularly at the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) level, was reported to have passed away in Yola.
Murray worked for Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola prior to her death, according to a statement issued by Council Secretary Fidelis Jockthan.
The statement said,
“She died on Saturday,4th November 2024 after a brief illness.
” Until her death, late Villian Vigor Murray was the Correspondent attached to cover the Office of the Deputy Governor, Government House, Yola, by her station (ABC Yola)
“She was active in unionism as she served as Vice Chairperson of NAWOJ Adamawa State at one time of her life time.
” Late Villian also contested for the office of Zonal VP, Northeast, (NAWOJ) in 2020 during the 10th Triennial National Delegates Conference of NAWOJ that was held on 14th November 2020 in Minna,Niger State.
” The State Council visited her residence on Saturday afternoon before she passed on in the evening.
” The Council at this trial moments consoled with the Murray family, Management of ABC Yola, NAWOJ, Church and her area of primary assignment, Office of the Deputy Governor, Government House, Yola.
“The state leadership of our great union is liaising with the family to keep our members informed of the burial arrangements.
” The Council also seeks for prayers for the repose of the soul of our late great member.”
