Rally: Police issue fresh warning to Kano APC, NNPPP

The Kano State police command has issued a new caution against the scheduled demonstration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Mr Hussaini Gumel, the state Commissioner of Police, talked to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) by phone on Friday in Kano.
Gumel claimed that the command has already launched aggressive patrols around the city to maintain law and order.
He stated that armed security officers had been deployed to key areas throughout the state to deal with any form of security concern.
“As far as this command is concerned, we have not permitted the two major political parties to engage in any form of protest in our areas of supervision,” he said.
He advised the citizens to conduct their legal affairs without fear of being harassed.
He noted that the police and sister security groups were collaborating to ensure adequate security for the lives and property of the citizens of the state.
He also exhorted the two parties’ leaders to follow through on the peace treaties they made.
He advised parents to monitor their children’s whereabouts since anyone caught disobeying the law would be jailed and prosecuted.
