Reps spokesman applauds Tinubu’s minister for suspending N-Power

Chief Philip Agbese, Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, has commended the decision of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Betta Edu to suspend the -Power scheme.

Platinum Times reports that the minister terminated the initiative in October, just a few months after being appointed by President Bola Tinubu, due to problems surrounding it.

On the topic, Agbese told reporters in Abuja on Sunday that Edu adopted a different strategy than the previous administration.

While telling the Minister not to give up on her attempts to change the system, Agbese urged other ministers to take notes from her.

He said,

“Unlike time past, Edu has even halted the controversial N-Power scheme. She intends to expand the programme to eventually accommodate more less privileged Nigerians.

“I’m excited about what is ahead. My advice for this woman is to keep the fire burning. Meanwhile, other ministers can learn from her as what we need in this country now is results.”
