Shettima pays courtesy visit to victims of Plateau massacre

Vice President Kashim Shettima paid a visit to displaced victims of the Christmas Eve attack in Bokkos Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State on Wednesday.

At 1:00 p.m., the plane carrying Shettima landed at Jos’ Yakubu Gowon Airport.

Shettima was met at the airport by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and former governors Simon Lalong and Joshua Dariye, who are on the ground assessing communities attacked by marauders in the Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi LGAs.

Displaced people had gathered at the Bokkos LGA’s mini-stadium to await the VP’s visit.

The victims were seen holding placards with messages such as ‘Our Human Rights Must Be Protected,’ among other things.

On Christmas Eve, gunmen attacked the LGAs of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi, killing around 110 people.
