Skit maker, Cute Abiola in fresh trouble as Police investigates him

The Nigeria Police have denounced what they called a “derogatory portrayal” of the police uniform in comedic acts by Abdulgafar Abiola, popularly known as Cute Abiola, a former naval officer and skin manufacturer.
The two most current sketches were posted on the skit maker’s social media accounts on July 20 and 24, 2023, according to the police.
This was said in a statement issued on Thursday by Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer.
The police spokesperson said;
“the skits in question show a highly disrespectful and derogatory portrayal of the police uniform, an action that is in direct violation of Section 251 of the Criminal Code and Section 133 of the Penal Code Law.”
He said Cute Abiola “will be investigated and possibly prosecuted for his deliberate acts as the NPF had already warned skit makers and filmmakers to desist from desecrating its uniform or accoutrements.”
Adejobi urged Nigerians to “exercise their freedom of expression responsibly and avoid engaging in actions that could erode public trust in our revered law enforcement institutions.”
Nigerians, according to Adejobi, should “exercise their freedom of expression responsibly and avoid engaging in actions that could erode public trust in our revered law enforcement institutions.”
According to Platinum Times Nigeria, Cute Abiola left the Nigerian Navy in November of last year to concentrate on comedy.
He said at the time that his time in the Navy had helped him develop the discipline he required to succeed in life.
