Sokoto govt proposes N6.7bn for ramadan feeding

The Sokoto State government announced Monday that it would spend N6.7 billion on its Ramadan feeding program.

The initiative includes grain distribution and meal delivery at feeding centers.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu announced this during the start of food distribution to 18,400 orphans and the poor across the state.

He stated that each of the 18,400 orphans and poor would receive bags of grains and millet along with N5000 in cash.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, congratulated the state administration for continuing the Ramadan feeding program.

The king expressed his support for the governor’s efforts to enhance the people’s living conditions.

He urged the privileged to be compassionate toward those in need.
