Subsidy Removal: Gov Zulum unveils 70 buses for metro transport, remodels terminus
Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno state, has unveiled a new fleet of 70 buses for metro transportation and to make it simpler for government employees to journey to their various locations of employment.
On the evening of September 11, the state government announced the fleet as one of its strategies for helping citizens deal with the financial difficulties caused by the elimination of the gasoline subsidy.
The project intends to lessen the stress of commuting on both citizens and employees of the government.
Governor Zulum also unveiled freshly built and renovated structuresstructures at terminus.
Zulum had authorized the disbursement of 10 million naira as a relief package for soldiers hurt in Borno conflicts at the same time.
The aid effort fulfilled a promise made by the governor at a Sallah launch hosted by Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff.
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, Major General Peter Malla, GOC 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, received a gift from the governor from Professor Usman A Tar, Commissioner of Information and Internal Security for Borno State, and Barrister Mustapha Ali Busuguma, Permanent Secretary for Government House.
