Tinubu departs Abuja for Ethiopia

On Thursday, February 15, President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 37th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Heads of State and Government.
This year’s summit subject is ”Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Lifelong, Quality, and Relevant Learning in Africa.
According to Ajuri Ngelali, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, the President will attend high-level meetings on African Union institutional reforms, peace and security, specific thematic issues like climate change, and the continent’s participation and priorities in the G20.
Ngelali stated that, in addition to the summit, President Tinubu will attend a special summit of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in his capacity as Chairman of the regional body.
He claimed that President Tinubu will be accompanied on the trip by select ministers and other key government officials, and that he plans to return to Abuja following the meeting.
