On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu met behind closed doors with a delegation from Kano State’s All Progressives Congress, APC.
Abdullahi Ganduje, the APC national chairman, led the team to the meeting, which was held in the Presidential Villa.
Nasiru Gawuna, the party’s governorship candidate in Kano State for 2023, also attended the meeting.
This comes just a week after the Supreme Court confirmed Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) as governor of Kano State.
The APC lost control in March when Gawuna received 890,705 votes, trailing Yusuf, who was proclaimed the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission with 1,019,602.
However, Gawuna challenged the results in court, leading to the Appeal Court declaring him governor.
On January 12, the Supreme Court reinstalled Yusuf as governor.
