Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has pledged to fight the governorship election tribunal’s decision, which deemed the APC candidate, Nasiru Yusuf Gawauna, the winner.
Yusuf made the pronouncement during a broadcast to the residents of the state on Wednesday night.
He stated that his legal team had been instructed to file an appeal with the court of appeals in attempt to restore the mandate granted to him by the people of the state.
As a result, he urged the good people of the state to be calm and continue to follow the law, as security officers have been directed to safeguard the safety of citizens’ lives and property.
“Let me assure you that the this government would continue to work for the development of the people of the state as the judgement will never dampen our spirit or discourage us from the good work we have started.” he said.
The Governor asked residents to resume normal activities after thanking them for their ongoing support and cooperation.
