Troops annihilates two bandits, recover weapons, others in Borno
According to the Nigerian Army, members of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) ambushed suspected Boko Haram terrorists (BHT) crossing the Kuka in Konduga LGA of Borno State.
Two of them were neutralized, and the others fled in confusion.
According to a statement from Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, the brave soldiers found 63 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition as well as an IED shell.
Further, he claimed that because of the military’s active actions targeting BHT strongholds, a notorious terrorist turned himself in to the 222 Battalion at Geizuwa in the Konduga LGA.
One AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and 26 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition were among the items found on the suspect, he claimed, adding that the suspect is presently being profiled for any further necessary action.
According to the statement, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, praised the troops’ high level of vigilance and fighting spirit and urged them to maintain the momentum and make sure that all traces of terrorists and bandits were totally eliminated from their respective areas of responsibility.
