Troops from the Joint Task Force North-West’s Operation Hadarin Daji, OPHD, freed 52 kidnapped victims in a successful and well-coordinated operation in Sokoto State’s Isa Local Government Area.
The Army said in a statement released on its official X account that this was in addition to the onslaught against terrorists through a series of clearance operations in their Areas of Responsibility.
According to the announcement, the accomplishment occurred on December 22, 2023, when troops cleared and destroyed terrorist enclaves at Saruwa, Kubuta, Gundumi villages, and Bunwanga Gundumi forest in Isa LGA.
“During the operation, the troops of the OPHD rescued 52 kidnapped victims while several terrorists were neutralised.
“The rescued victims include 14 males, 32 females, and 6 children who will undergo a medical check-up, debrief, and hand over to appropriate authorities to reunite them with their families,” it said.
