Troops rescue kidnapped corps members in Katsina

The Nigeria Army stated that troops from 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army, in coordination with the Nigeria Police, freed two Corps members kidnapped by bandits in Yargoje hamlet, Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina State.
Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, made the announcement in a statement on Friday.
Nwachukwu stated that the Corps members were abducted while traveling from Edo to Katsina State, but that the swift response of military forces and police resulted in the successful rescue of the victims from their captors.
He stated that the rescued Corps members have received the requisite medical attention and support to ensure their physical and emotional well-being and are currently in the custody of the Nigeria Police in Kankara.
The military also requested the public’s assistance and support in supplying timely and relevant intelligence to improve troops’ proactive operational engagement of criminal elements threatening national security.
