Two brothers killed by vigilantee in Rivers
Two siblings, Collins and Newman Ugorji, are said to have been killed by members of a vigilante organization called OSPAC in Idu community of the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Wade Ugorji, the deceased person’s cousin, said our correspondent in Port Harcourt that Collins and Newman were detained by the vigilante group while visiting a relative in the Idu region of the state.
He said that the security men branded his cousins kidnappers, took them to custody and consequently shot them to death.
He said a motorbike that belonged to the victims as well as their other personal belongings were seized by the vigilantes.
The Rivers State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed that the DPO of Omoku Police Division with his patrol team had visited the Idu community.
She said one of the vigilante members and four other suspects had been arrested in connection with the murder, adding the case had been transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department for discreet investigation. (Daily Trust)
