Unknown Gunmen abduct Benue Commissioner Matthew Abo

Unidentified gunmen kidnapped Benue State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Matthew Abo.

According to Platinum Times, the event occurred on Sunday night at 10 p.m. when armed men stormed the Commissioner’s mansion in Zaki-Biam, the headquarters of the state’s Ukum Local Government Area.

According to an eyewitness, the gunmen who stormed the area on four motorcycles forced their way into the commissioner’s residence and began shooting intermittently.

The perpetrators ordered everyone in the house to lie face down, including the Commissioner’s wife and children, before whisking him away to an unknown location.

Sir Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hyacinth Alia, confirmed the terrible occurrence to DAILY POST on Monday.

When our correspondent phoned the CPS, they simply stated, “Unfortunately, that is the news.” Mr. Matthew Abo, Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism from Ukum LGA, was kidnapped.”

According to Platinum Times, Abo was one of 17 Commissioners sworn in as a member of the Benue State Executive Council on August 29, 2023.
