VP Shettima to launch light up South-East Initiative Monday

On Monday, February 26, Vice President Kashim Shettima will inaugurate the Light Up South-East Initiative, which will speed power supplies to the region’s industrial clusters.
The event is scheduled to take place in Enugu, the capital of Enugu State, as part of ongoing efforts to increase electricity supplies to industrial clusters around the country.
According to a statement issued by the vice president’s spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, the initiative, a partnership between the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) and its partners, will include important stakeholders in the country’s power industry.
A crucial focus of the Vice President’s visit to Enugu on Monday will be the South-East Business Roundtable, which will feature top government officials and business leaders discussing how to provide reliable and sustainable power to the region’s industrial and residential sectors.
On October 12, 2023, the Vice President launched the initiative in the South-West at the Agbara Industrial Cluster, with partners pledging to the project’s successful execution throughout the country.
