Why I did not disappear from kidnappers den – Anambra native doctor speaks after regaining freedom

The famous Dibia (native doctor) from Oba, Anambra State, who was abducted a few days ago, Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki, has returned.

In some videos making the rounds on Facebook this morning, Saturday, July 29, 2023, the Dibia said that on the disgraceful day, he got a call from a friend telling him they were in his hotel having fun and had spent more than N300k on it. They wanted him to be there so he could pay for their expenses.

Akwa, as he was affectionately known by admirers, claimed that after leaving his house and traveling a short distance to the hotel, he heard gunshots. He claimed he left his position in the hotel to investigate what was happening. Assailants opened fire on him, but the charming Akwa man deflected the bullets. By that time, two of his security personnel had perished.

They then instructed him to start their engine. He claimed that if he had refused to follow them, they would have killed more people.

“I joined them to save lives of people in my hotel. I would have run away but if I did, it would have triggered more killings. I followed them to save lives,” Akwa said.

It was not clear enough why the gunmen penetrated the hotel for which with Akwa’s supposed spirit powers as a Dibia, the gunmen should not have gained entrance in the first place. Akwa told his crowded people in the video that against some flying news that he was owing some people, that he was innocent.

“I was with my captors hearing news that I was owing some people being the reason I was abducted.

“I am a rich man and if I was owing anybody I was equal to the task to pay the person back his or her money.

“The gun men told me the reason they came to my hotel but certainly not for me. I only followed them to save lives of my people and customers.”

The Akwa, who has slimmed down from his once-bulky physique, had great confidence in the film. It was unclear why some people rejoiced throughout his incarceration days. But it was obvious that his people were not ready to desert him considering the crowd in the video that welcomed him.
