Zamfara: Three killed, 50 others abducted in Bagega community

In some areas of Zamfara State, at least three people have been slain and over 51 others, including a district chief, have been abducted by bandits.
According to information obtained by Platinum Times, the event happened on Tuesday when armed men broke into the mining community of Bagega in the state and shot randomly, killing the three residents.
Platinum Times was unable to contact the police command because ASP Yazid Abubakar, the police public relations officer, did not return his calls as of the time this article was filed.
Malam Abubakar Uba, the village leader, however, verified the story to Reuters, claiming that the gunmen first abducted the district head before abducting hundreds of other villagers.
“They stormed the village on dozens of motorcycles, and their first stop was the District’s Head residence.
“A few of them took him away with three members of his household before they entered the town and unleashed more harm”, Uba stated.
