Tinubu, Wike, others to grace CIBN Banking, Finance Conference in Abuja

Among the luminaries set to attend the 16th Annual Banking and Finance Conference hosted by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) are President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
This was stated at a media discussion on Monday in Lagos by Mrs. Bukola Smith, Chairperson of the Consultative Committee of the 16th Annual Banking and Finance Conference and Managing Director of FSDH Merchant Bank, according to NAN.
From September 5 to 6, 2023, the conference will be hosted in a hybrid style, according to Smith, with some sessions taking place in person and others online.
She claims that the event will take place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
The conference, with the title “Nigeria’s Economic Growth and Empowerment: The Role of the Financial Services Industry,” will, according to the speaker, give business leaders the chance to strategize and present practical plans for fostering inclusive, long-term progress.
She mentioned that the Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Folashodun Shonubi, would offer a special goodwill message, Mr. Shubham Chaudhuri, the Country Director for the World Bank, would serve as the Keynote Speaker, and Dr. Ken Opara would serve as the Chief Host.
She said there will be two break-out sessions and five thought-provoking business seminars at the conference.
Smith said,
“Apart from providing participants a platform to connect with other professionals and industry stakeholders across the world, it promises to be intellectually stimulating.
“There will also be a pre-conference/welcome cocktail and fireside chat specifically packaged for youths.
“This will be an interactive session in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere where carefully selected successful professionals will share their success stories with the audience to inspire them.’’
Among the other confirmed resource speakers at the conference are Prof. Olayinka David-West, Associate Dean, Lagos Business School, Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, Dr. Kingsley Obiora, Deputy Governor, Economic Policy CBN, Mrs. Razia Khan, Managing Director and Chief Economist, Africa and Middle East, Global Research, and others.
